Taco Bell was one of my favorite fast food places growing up. So many good times eating cheesy gordita crunches and chili cheese burritos here!
Unfortunately, after finding out I was intolerant to gluten and dairy, I had to make a tough decision and remove Taco Bell from my life. It wasn’t easy, but in the long run, I felt better.
Going keto and removing gluten and dairy, I thought I would never eat Taco Bell again. But that was before I discovered the hidden low carb choices they offer, which can be easily customized and ordered without dairy or gluten.
Low-Carb Taco Bell Breakfast
To order a suitable low carb keto breakfast at Taco Bell, start by ordering a Mini Skillet.
The Mini Skillet is a mixture of pico de gallo, eggs, nacho cheese, and potatoes.
Make sure to order this with no potatoes to remove the high spiking carbs. You can add steak or chicken, guacamole, and sour cream for extra fat and protein.
If you’re dairy intolerant, just order it without sour cream or cheese.
Taco Bell also offers the Naked Egg Taco which comes with bacon or sausage. It also includes potatoes, nacho cheese sauce, and shredded cheese.
Order with no potatoes and you have yourself a low carb meal.
Low-Carb Taco Bell Lunch and Dinner
For lunch or dinner, the Power Menu Bowl is a great choice. It comes with steak or chicken, pico de gallo, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, avocado ranch dressing, and romaine lettuce. It also includes rice and beans, so make sure to cross those off when ordering.
I ordered one of these on lunch break the other day with extra steak and guacamole (no dairy).
Tasted excellent and kept me full until dinner time. I definitely recommend this!
Stay away from the beans, rice, potatoes, taco shells, tortillas, tortilla bowls, tortilla chips, and desserts. All of these are high carb and will kick you right out of ketosis.
If your allergic to gluten, stay away from all high carb options, the ground beef, and taco sauce as those have wheat in it.
