Finding a snack that is both ketogenic friendly and delicious can be a tough task.
That was until I stumbled upon a snack from Shrewd Food called protein crisps, which have become a big hit on Amazon.
What makes this keto-friendly snack so popular? Is it the delicious Baked Cheese, Brickoven Pizza, and Cookies & Cream flavors?
Let’s take a dive into this product and find out what the rave is all about.

How Do Shrewd Food Protein Crisps Taste?
Shrewd Food Protein Crisps are available in 5 different flavors.
- Baked Cheddar
- Brickoven Pizza
- Cookies & Cream
- Sriracha Cheddar
- Strawberries & Cream
The texture of these is similar to cheese puffs but a tad crunchier. The seasoning of the Brickoven pizza flavor is quite nice which resembles a nice Italian pizza spice.
But I think baked cheddar might be the most popular flavor. These taste very similar to original cheese puffs, which have a nice cheddar crunch.
If you are looking for more an of a dessert snack, the Cookies & Cream and Strawberries & Cream flavors are awesome choices.
If you decide to go with one of the dessert flavors, make sure to pair it up with a cold glass of almond milk, highly recommended!
What are the Benefits?
These Protein Crisps contain many keto friendly benefits.
With only 2 grams of carbs and 1 gram of sugar per bag, these definitely fit the macros for low carb keto diets.
Besides being keto friendly, these also have a list of benefits that might entice anyone.
I love that these are gluten-free. With leaky gut and allergies becoming such a huge problem in today’s society, its best we stay away from gluten. These proteins are hard to digest and cause inflammation to our stomach linings.
These little protein crisps puffs are also baked in an oven rather than being fried, which makes it a healthier option. You get less inflammation from baked foods compared to fried.
These come in packs of 8, so you can easily bring these with you to work, on the road, or whenever you crave a low carb snack!
I found a few negatives with this product. The added milk and cheese ingredients is a bummer since it cuts out the vegan and dairy/lactose allergy “crowds”. It also includes 14 grams of protein per serving. It seems like these are more tailored for low carb diets instead of ketogenic. If it was more intended for keto diets, the fat and protein macros would be flipped around. Too much protein can cause a glucose spike and kick us out of ketosis. It’s best to eat one serving at a time to prevent too much protein intake. You can find all five flavors here on Amazon. You receive an 8 pack at a reasonable price.
